Watching people try to be influencers at regular places makes me feel old and tired

went to get coffee yesterday and this girl spent 15 minutes setting up the perfect shot of her latte.

moved it three different times to catch the light better.

asked her friend to take like 20 photos from different angles while other people waited behind them to order. the barista looked dead inside which honestly was the most relatable part of the whole situation.

the weird part is she seemed genuinely stressed about it.

like this was her job or something. kept checking the photos and sighing and asking for more. meanwhile im just standing there wanting my medium coffee with cream feeling like a time traveler from 2003 when people drank beverages instead of photographing them.

when did consuming anything become this elaborate performance for strangers on the internet who probably arent even paying attention.
